Dallas Gets Infusion Center to Treat Depression, PTSD, Chronic Pain & Addiction

Principal Spine and Pain Consultants partners with Kalypso Wellness Centers to provide Dallas residents with a new pain management treatment option for their patients

Dallas, Texas (July 23, 2019) — Kalyspo Wellness Centers, one of the nation’s leading providers of ketamine infusions, has partnered with Principal Spine and Pain Consultants in Dallas, TX to bring Kalypso’s patent pending ketamine treatments to their patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. This is now the 8th location across the country to offer Kalypso’s evolutionary ketamine treatments.

To date, Kalypso has successfully treated patients from more than 32 different disease states including chronic pain, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, depression and PTSD. While the ketamine clinic industry continues to grow with more than 300 ketamine clinics across the country, and more opening each week, Kalypso is one of only a handful of companies with multiple locations across the country.

“At Principal Spine and Pain Consultants, we see patients on a daily basis in vast amounts of pain, either due to injuries or long-term diagnoses,” explains Paul Kurian, M.D., board-certified pain management physician. “We take a tailored approach to each of our patients, using both advanced and traditional treatment solutions. Having a new treatment modality like Kalypso’s patent pending ketamine infusions is truly exciting for our staff and for our patients.”

Kalypso Wellness Centers was founded by two board-certified anesthesiologists and two board-certified pain management physicians with 50 years of total experience.

While many things set Kalypso apart, the results compared to national averages are impressive. 90% of Kalypso patients see positive results, compared to national averages which are between 60-70%.

“The positive results we’ve seen from patients formerly suffering from chronic pain are encouraging,”explains Ryan Bridges, Kalypso Wellness Centers Chief Operating Officer. We have now administered almost 6,000 infusions since our company’s inception in 2016 which allows us to continue to fine-tune our treatments and discover new ways that ketamine infusions can help people. ”Unlike other ketamine infusion clinics, Kalypso has the ability to use the patient’s own DNA to customize treatments and provide a completely customized approach to the patient’s symptoms.

“As the popularity of ketamine infusions continues, more and more “pop up clinics” are coming onto the scene,” Dr. Cannon Clifton, Kalypso Wellness Center’s CEO and Co-Founder cautions. “While we’re excited that ketamine infusions are becoming a more accepted method of treatment, consumers really need to do their research before choosing a clinic. As a leading provider of these infusions, we are committed to not only providing excellent care for our patients but also widespread education on this new and evolving treatment modality.” Kalypso now has a presence in 8 locations in three different states – Mississippi, New York and Texas.

About Kalypso Wellness Centers
Kalypso Wellness Centers was formed in 2016 by two board certified anesthesiologists Dr. Cannon Clifton, CEO and Dr. Bryan Clifton, CMO; and two board certified pain management physicians, Dr. Mark Moran, Chief Science Officer and Dr. Scott Worrich, Chief Clinical Officer who were tired of seeing patients needlessly suffering and chronically debilitated on prescription narcotics. After countless months of research, they found a promising new solution with the use of ketamine infusions that could be offered to patients. As treatments continued, they created the RESET Ketamine Therapy™, which includes five distinct proprietary ketamine formulations: KalyCalm™, KalyCan™, KalyMax™, KalyPro™ and KalyZen™. Upon further investigation, they discovered that when tailored to each patient’s unique disease state, these infusions can provide a substantial improvement in quality of life for patients with anxiety, major depressive disorder, PTSD, bipolar disorder, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, inflammatory pain, chronic pain, and migraines/chronic headaches. Kalypso Wellness Centers Announces Record Breaking Growth While Keeping Quality Of Care Top Of Mind

Kalypso Wellness Centers partner with South Texas Mental Health Associates to offer Kalypso Ketamine® infusion treatments in Corpus Christi

San Antonio, Texas (April 2, 2019) — Kalypso Wellness Centers continues to reach new milestones as they proudly announce they have now collectively administered 5,000 of their patent pending Kalypso Ketamine® infusions. To date, they have treated patients suffering from more than 32 disease states including chronic pain, PTSD, migraine headaches, depression and fibromyalgia. Since the company’s inception in 2016, they have expanded to two corporate sites and four managed locations in three different states – Mississippi, New York and Texas – and are looking to announce more locations in the next few months.

“We remain humble and grateful for our clinic partners, our referring physicians, and most importantly the patients who trust in our therapies,” said Ryan Bridges, Kalypso Wellness Centers Chief Operating Officer. “Due to our excellent clinical results, we believe our therapies have extended applications across an even broader range of patient conditions. We hope this will lead to greater penetration and adoption of low dose ketamine infusions as an alternative method of treatment for many diseases.”

As the popularity of low dose ketamine infusions continues, more and more “pop up clinics” are coming onto the scene. This means consumers really need to do their research before investing in the infusions. With low dose ketamine infusions becoming more mainstream, Kalypso Wellness Centers are committed to staying at the forefront of the conversation around proper evaluation, administration and follow up care in order to make sure patients are truly getting the care they so desperately need and deserve.

“We started this company to help patients who were frustrated with their clinical progress,” Dr. Cannon Clifton , Kalypso Wellness Center’s CEO and Founder explains. “As we reach the 5,000 infusion milestone, we believe we are just getting started. Personally, treating patients at Kalypso Wellness Centers has been the most satisfying aspect of my medical career.”

Kalypso Wellness Centers was founded by two board-certified anesthesiologists and two board-certified pain management physicians with 50 years of total experience. Their treatments have demonstrated efficacy rates of 90% with less than 5% of patients experiencing any adverse reactions. All infusions are medically supervised and their team of doctors pride themselves on working collaboratively with the patient’s primary care physician or mental health provider to treat the patient as a whole.

Unlike at other clinics, Kalypso uses five distinct proprietary ketamine formulations to create an individualized approach to the patient’s symptoms. Traditionally known as an anesthetic or recreational drug, research conducted at Yale University, the National Institute of Health, Johns Hopkins and others has shown Ketamine’s positive benefits as an alternative method for treating depression and managing pain. The drug essentially works by resetting a brain’s neural pathways, thus stopping the problem at its source.

As the company continues to expand, the company’s research team led by Dr. Bryan Clifton, Kalypso Wellness Centers Chief Medical Officer, continues to research a variety of medications and formulations to better optimize their treatments and identify new symptoms that ketamine could positively affect.

Got PTSD? Kalypso Ketamine® Can Help Remove the Trauma

Approximately 8 percent of American adults (1 in 13) will develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) during their lifetime, according to recent research. Those odds have kept medical professionals busy for decades trying to find an effective treatment.

One such treatment that has been gaining momentum in the last few years is ketamine. While previously known primarily as an anesthetic for many decades, the last few years have seen ketamine emerge as a popular pain management solution for several types of chronic physical pain and psychological disorders—including PTSD.

At Kalypso Wellness Centers, ketamine is administered intravenously, with one infusion lasting about 60 minutes. Because ketamine inhibits NMDA receptors in the body that are responsible for central sensitization, ketamine infusions work in a completely different way from any other medication. Many antidepressant medications serve to “block” certain pathways but do not eliminate the source of the problem. Ketamine works by “re-setting” neural pathways and triggering a rapid growth of neural connections, thus removing the traumatic experience from memory.

“It blocks a pain receptor that none of the ‘morphine type’ of drugs block,” Kalypso Wellness Centers CEO Dr. Cannon Clifton said. “This is a central receptor, so key to blocking pain at its source. And since all the other pain medicines block different receptors, the patients are not sensitized to ketamine and reply very quickly.”

One study of ketamine’s effectiveness in treating patients with PTSD indicated that “Several patients did not receive a second infusion per protocol because of sustained reduction in PTSD symptom levels.” Last year, John Krystal, M.D., Chair of the Yale University Department of Psychiatry, said in a statement, “Ketamine seems to rapidly and robustly improve (PTSD) symptoms, even for individuals who have tried a myriad of other medications and treatment approaches with little to no benefit.”

Kalypso Wellness Centers has experienced success of its own using its patent-pending Kalypso Ketamine® infusions to treat patients suffering from PTSD. We know ketamine has been successful treating PTSD because the patients themselves have told us. According to H.T. from Boerne, Texas, “I had horrible PTSD and anxiety until my treatments with Kalypso. Now my PTSD and anxiety are cured! I haven’t had any problems with PTSD or anxiety for months!”

And ketamine works quickly. Patients who receive the recommended treatment of 4 to 6 infusions over a 2- to 3-week period receive 90 to 95 percent relief. And sometimes it even works faster. M.H. from San Antonio declared, “I had nightmares from Vietnam every night for 40 years, after one infusion they were gone!”

The effectiveness of Kalypso Ketamine® infusions in treating PTSD and other debilitating disorders has led to rapid expansion for Kalypso Wellness Centers. Earlier this year, we expanded into the Northeastern U.S. when we entered into a partnership with renowned pain management specialist Dr. Edward S. Rubin M.D. in Garden City, New York. Kalypso Wellness Centers now features six locations in the U.S.: Corpus Christi, Houston, and San Antonio in Texas; Garden City, New York; Meridian, Mississippi; and Wilmington, North Carolina. In fact, we just recently administered our 4,000th Kalypso Ketamine infusion®. Contact us if you are suffering, and we will help you reset your life the way we have already helped thousands in just over two years of existence.

Kalypso Wellness Centers Partner with South Texas Mental Health Associates

Kalypso Wellness Centers partner with South Texas Mental Health Associates to offer Kalypso Ketamine® infusion treatments in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (December 13, 2018)— Kalypso Wellness Centers, one of the most successful, and rapidly expanding, ketamine clinics in the country, has partnered with South Texas Mental Health Associates to bring Kalypso’s revolutionary ketamine treatments to patients suffering from depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders.

South Texas Mental Health Associates, located in Corpus Christi, recently became a managed clinic for Kalypso Wellness Centers to provide treatment in the form of Kalypso Ketamine® infusions that was previously available only by driving two to four hours to San Antonio or Houston. The reputation of the patent-pending Kalypso Ketamine® infusions as an effective method for treating more than 30 disease states has been growing rapidly since Kalypso Wellness Centers was launched in 2016.  Earlier in 2018, Kalypso surpassed two major milestones: first, its 3,000th ketamine infusion in May, and then a few months later, its 4,000th.

“We wanted a partner that had proven success with their products and business model, thus with over 4,000 infusions, Kalypso was the logical choice,” said Dr. John Lusins, a psychiatrist who started South Texas Mental Health Associates. “Kalypso has differentiated themselves from other providers with not only their track record of success but most importantly excellent patient feedback.”

Ketamine is an anesthetic, but in recent years has gained popularity in treating patients with chronic, debilitating pain, dependency on narcotics, depression, PTSD, and a host of other ailments. Ketamine works by essentially “re-setting” neural pathways and triggering a rapid growth of neural connections, thus stopping the problem at its source. Studies on the benefits of ketamine have been performed at Yale University, the National Institute of Health, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins, and others.

“We started in Texas, and we have successful locations in Houston and San Antonio, so the expansion into Corpus Christi is the natural next step for us,” said Dr. Cannon Clifton, CEO of Kalypso Wellness Centers. “We are honored to add South Texas Mental Health Associates to our list of managed clinics, and we are proud to have the talents and experience of Dr. John Lusins and Dr. Megan Talley on our side as we continue to help suffering patients reset their lives with our cutting-edge ketamine infusions. We plan to expand the practice further. Our goal is to make ketamine the mainstream treatment instead of the alternative treatment.”

The addition of South Texas Mental Health Associates to the Kalypso family continues the practice’s rapid expansion. Now, just over two years since its formation, Kalypso features locations in North Houston and San Antonio as well as managed clinics in Corpus Christi, TX, Garden City, New York; Meridian, Mississippi; and Wilmington, North Carolina. The success of Kalypso Ketamine infusions in managing chronic pain, depression, PTSD, migraines, and other disease states has been largely responsible for the way the practice has expanded in such a short time. Kalypso’s unique formulations have resulted in 90-96% efficacy with a side effect rate of only 5%.

Kalypso Wellness Centers Moves to Secure Patent for Ketamine Treatments

SAN ANTONIO, Aug. 21, 2018— Kalypso Wellness Centers, a leader in advanced ketamine infusion treatments for PTSD, depression, chronic pain, and many other conditions, announced today that it has filed a patent for its groundbreaking Kalypso Ketamine™ infusion process. Ketamine treatments are becoming increasingly popular around the country as an alternative method for treating debilitating disorders and conditions that have proven difficult to treat using traditional medicine.

“We decided that now is the right time to patent our process because we feel that our formulations and treatment methods provide patients with a better experience with less side effects,” said Dr. Bryan Clifton, Kalypso’s Chief Medical Officer. “Our infusions take an hour and most patients see benefits after their first treatment. Kalypso RESET formulations have demonstrated an 85% to 95% clinical efficacy rate and adverse side effect rate of less than 5%.”

Once approved, the patent will be in effect for 20 years and it will apply to all five of Kalypso’s proprietary ketamine formulations and any future ketamine formulations developed by Kalypso. The patent also covers all routes of ketamine administration for currently recognized clinical applications and any potential future uses.

“We feel confident Kalypso Ketamine is beyond the state of the art and we want to ensure that there is a standard that people adhere to as it relates to administrating ketamine treatments and how they should properly use our formulations,” Dr. Clifton said.

Since Kalypso will be the first to apply for a patent for these formulations and methodology, the company will be spending more time in Washington, D.C., advocating for patients’ safety and helping establish the standard of care for ketamine treatments.

Currently, Kalypso offers its revolutionary Kalypso Ketamine™ treatments at its five clinics—three in Texas, one in North Carolina, and one in New York. To date, Kalypso has administered approximately 3,500 ketamine infusions.
